What exactly is Health & Wellness Coaching (HWC)?GREAT question! HWC is a partnership between you and your coach through which your personal strengths are used to create and achieve goals using custom-tailored behavior change strategies. With a deep respect for your talents, strengths, and skills your coach will help you optimize your health and well-being so that you can achieve your best, healthiest self in a nonjudgemental, collaborative manner. To take this a step further: 1. Your coach will work with you to enhance your motivation and self-regulation, leverage strengths, navigate a journey of change, and build other psychological resources needed to change for good, including mindfulness, self-awareness, positivity, hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and resilience. 2. Your coach will assist you in connecting the dots between who you are now and who you want to be, and in taking the incremental behavioral steps that will enable you to succeed in your desired changes. 3. Your coach's primary focus will be on helping you to establish health-promoting mental and physical behaviors that are aligned with evidence-based guidelines in fitness, nutrition, weight management, health risk, stress management, and life satisfaction.
